Jane started Cherished Care in June 2010 on the back of 30 years experience of working with young people with special needs. The organisation has been built on enthusiasm and devotion to young people with special needs.

During her career, Jane has worked as a child minder, nursery assistant, nursery supervisor, family support worker, multi sensory worker, enabler, activity scheme leader and as a family Intervention worker. Jane also uses Makaton sign.

Jane has a unique insight into caring for young people as she has had 3 children with special needs and understands the impact on the family.

Jane is passionate about making a positive difference to young people and their familie's lives.

Samuel, Jane's son has recently joined Cherished Care. Sam is a 24 year old young man who is just about to finish his music degree. He is a keen drummer and a member of the up and coming band The Beacons.

Sam works as a teaching assistant at a local college with young people with special needs. Sam also has a unique understanding of young people with special needs having grown up with siblings with special needs.

Cherished Care also employs a number of other staff where appropriate, all of whom have a wide range of knowledge and experience to bring.

All staff have an enhanced CRB check.

Cherished Care aims to provide the best possible care for young people. We have a holistic approach and a geniune compassion and understanding of working with young people with special needs. Our focus is on enabling young people to achieve and gain greater independence.
